Did you know that August is #BlackBusinessMonth? Now more than ever, people are looking for ways to support the Black community. One of the easiest ways to further support is to buy + source locally or online from a Black-owned business.

Sharing resources and spreading awareness for allies means a lot, including us at The Boba Social. Of course, this list is just the beginning. We hope you pass this list along and join the conversation in introducing us to more Black-owned tea businesses that we’ve might’ve missed. Honestly... what is boba if you don’t have any tea? My Cup is Tea is a specialty tea company based in the Orange Mound community. Orange Mound is the oldest African American Community in America. In 1895, a portion of the land from the vast Dederick Plantation was sliced into narrow lots and sold to African Americans for a small sum. More of that here, but the Memphis-tea company is more than just the tea. It exists to stabilize and edify marginalized women from teaching computer literacy to job readiness — in order to provide excellent teas for tea enthusiasts.
